La Romana, Dominican Republic

After a rather early morning and long day of travel, the family arrived safe and sound at good friend Mina's place in La Romana, Dominican Republic. We left Barbados very early in the morning, flew through Miami where our flight to Santo Domingo was delayed, then had quite an adventure renting a car - thankfully Mina with her fluent Spanish and wise ways was on hand to help (Grandma Amy might have an idea of what the problem was with the crew not known for traveling light and our rental car...). Miles however maintained good spirits, here on the plane:

We've had a great time so far in the DR. Here we are cruising the town with the Bob Revolution (as an aside, the Bob probably deserves its own blog on this trip - we have used it for everything thinkable, crib on wheels, bedside table, luggage cart, baby SUV on rough roads...).

Our friend Mina works as Coordinator of prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV at a local clinic -- doing amazing and important work, as is usual for Mina! We visited her office. Here are Miles and Mama in support of the campaign for exclusive breastfeeding:
Having a good time at Mina's office:
We are heading out the door to Bavaro for a couple days of beach time while Mina's working, then back to La Romana for the weekend. Here's a farewell photo from the Barbados beach... stay tuned for more news from Miles' Caribbean adventure!
