Milou arrive en Haiti!

Miles is very happy to be in Haiti, where Mama has spent much time over the past few years! (excuse the delay in blogging - internet isn't too good here!). NB: Milou is the Haitian name given to Miles by Mama's colleague Mona while she was in Seattle in June.

Here's the family arriving at the airport in Haiti (we flew in from Santo Domingo on a little plane)...Wouldn't it be nice if instead of naming our airports after criminals like Ronald Reagan, we named them after great emancipators? Toussaint l'Ouverturewas the slave turned general who lead the country to emancipation.

While Mama's been working with colleagues here, Miles has been hanging out with his Daddy at the hotel, where he spends lots of time crawling around exploring the grounds.

A highlight of the week was visiting Mama at work with a local partner organization, the Haitian National Institute for Community Health. Here's Miles awestruck by all the attention he got from the lovely ladies there!

And here's Mama getting some work done with colleague Ruth while Miles peacefully reads a book.

It's been a good week here but we're also looking forward to coming home and seeing our people! Miss everyone!

Fun to follow the stories of traveling with young Miles in tow. Someday soon we hope to follow your lead. For now, our house is enough of an adventure. Looking forward to introducing our new one to your slightly older one.
