Miles is Two! And happy holidays!

Well, the end of a wild year is here and we are on to the next. Miles had a busy but very fun holiday season, with MANY parties - his own second birthday, other family and friend birthdays, plus the holidays! Here are some highlights.

Wishing you the best in the new year. Thank you all for the light and love you bring to our lives.

Glaicer Trip

This year marked the 26th year in a row of the storied Glacier Park Tradition. But it wasn't just any year--this time Miles and Sarah came along. Above is the crew in front of the North Fork Hostel, with its proprietor, Ollie.

Grandpop Dean taught Miles how to skip rocks--one of the most important developments in a young man's life!

Miles still smiles

After taking a few months off, Miles is happy to bring back his blog as a diary of his adventures and a way to keep in touch with fans near and far. Miles is still smiling, now more than ever!

It's been over six months now since the earthquake gave the family, Haiti and the world quite a shock. We were very happy to mark the time passed with a visit from Mama's Haitian colleagues, Mona and Deleon. Mona coined Miles' favorite nickname, Milou, and the two continued to enjoy each others' company during Mona's visit, as you can see!

We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our blog followers for their support of our family over the past few months. We couldn't do it without you. Miles wants to share a few more photos of his recent activities as a small way to thank everyone.

Keeping track of the ladies

Rani is proving kind of hard to get, but Miles won't give up anytime soon!

Zella and Miles hit the sprinkler for some summer fun!

So as you can see Miles is happy as ever, and loving the summer!

Birthday adventure on the merry go round

The day after Miles' big party was his actual birthday, 21 December. While Mama celebrated the occasion by getting her hair done, Daddy took Miles on the merry go round.
Miles was a bit pensive at first.
But then started to have some birthday fun!
Here is a video of the occasion we thought was pretty funny (yes we are finally entering the modern world of blogging!):

Happy birthday little Miles Leroy!

Miles turns One!

Today we celebrated a major milestone for the whole family (we think it's fair to say!) - one year old! Grandma Amy hosted a grand celebration, and Miles' favorite friends and family turned out to wish him well.

Here the little guy chows down on Grandma Sue's delicious carrot cake:

In other news, Miles had a great time hanging out with his Great Nana Christine over the past couple of days:

Stay tuned for more birthday photos...

Thanksgiving on Waldron

The family headed to Waldron Island for the Thanksgiving weekend, to visit Grandpa Steve and Great-Grandpa Chuck. We brought along Auntie Anna, Uncle Kolya, cousin Arriette, and ran into other family there as well. It was a great time. First we got to take a ferry ride, where we ran into cousins Aazaad and Shaadaan, along with Uncle Tyan and Auntie Meredith:
Miles got to do some EXTRA fun things like ride in the back of a pickup truck with Auntie Anna!

We collected apples and pressed cider - a big hit!

Here are some photos of the beautiful boy on the beautiful Waldron beach...

Another highlight was Grandpa Chuck's famous pancake breakfast. Miles made a respectable showing finishing off at least three!

Everyone got to chill out and have a great time at one of our favorite places ever.

Pedro Turns One

Today Miles and family attended Miles' buddy Pedro's 1st birthday party at the Family Fun Center. Miles and Pedro had a great time catching up - the two met way back in the day, when they came along to CAIR Project board meetings and laid around looking at each other while Mama and Kari talked abortion funding.

Here's the two guys sharing a birthday moment:

More camaraderie:

Here Miles takes on the Fun Center, feature baby rock climbing (Miles conquered the climb!):

Good times! Happy birthday Pedro!
