Miles hits the swim up bar, and other adventures in the Caribbean
Some highlights from our time in Barbados, now nearing its end...
The family went out with Mama's colleagues to British style "high tea" at an old mansion in central Barbados. We had the full afternoon tea, with little sandwiches, cakes & tarts, and then the highlight was scones with strawberries and cottled cream. Yum!
While Daddy wasn't too thrilled about the colonial nature of the high tea, he felt better after capturing this photo of a monument to emancipation on the way home:
While Mama was at work this week, Miles had many adventures with his Daddy. One afternoon they went to the Barbados Nature Reserve, which featured a surprisingly large number of monkeys and turtles for such a small space! Miles also went to Barbados' National Museum, where he learned that there was mass worker's movement in the 1930s in response to the global recession, and checked out the scene in capitol Bridgetown.
Here's the family's favorite dinner spot, Just Grillin', which features fresh grilled seafood (the local favorite is flying fish - yummy!), veggies, salad, and of course rum punch!
Here we're celebrating the end of a successful training and week of work with our colleagues here in the Caribbean with Auntie Shay (yup, Miles was thrilled to discover that one of his favorite friends from Seattle decided to join him Barbados too!) at the swim up bar:

What great photos!! My favorite is the swim-up bar photo! What a great experience! Love how you are using the Bob!
So hard to tell the favorite photo. He's such a lovely child, with such stylish and loving parents!
Whoa -- where are the "Jesse shaves his head" photos?!?!
great pictures -- my fave so far is Miles lounging on the inflatable raft... was the scene really that calm - or did you just catch a moment of rest?
Swim up bar photo oh yeah!
