Trip to Maryland/DC, Vol 1

Miles Leroy set out for his first cross-country adventure, as the whole family flew to DC for spring break.

Miles enjoyed hanging out in his bjorn carrier while riding the tram to the gate at Sea-tac Airport. Always hold onto the hand rail - safety first!

The family . Miles had a great time hanging out with mom and dad on the plane – he found the known-to-be at-times bumpy plane ride very soothing.

And he dug the layover at Chicago O'Hare, what with that trippy music and laser-light in the underground tunnel. It was like the corridor of the Correlian Cruiser – except no blockade to run (and minus the dangerous Imperial boarding, and swirling escape pod to Tatooine).

We arrived safely. First stop was Nana Martha's house in Montgomery County, Maryland, where Miles also got to meet for the first time his cousin Vinnie and great nana Christine! Very cool.

Here's Miles hanging out with cuz'n Vinnie:

And getting to know great nana:

Wow, four generations of Kolstad/Wilhelm/Hagopians! That got a smile out of Miles.

The family enjoyed checking out Miles' new tricks – and he liked showing 'em off.

One of his favorite things these days is standing, or hanging out in his bjorn carrier checking everything out - basically any spot where he can be upright and check out the wide world (oh baby). We share a suspicion that he can hardly wait to get moving...!

Stay tuned...

Unfortunately we had a bit of a camera snafu, and so are missing photos from our visits with Uncle John in Arlington; Dave, Michele, Sasha, and Jake in Takoma Park; and then Ben, Rachel, and Silas in Baltimore.

But we're working on getting some of their photos so we can show all what a fun time was had! So stay tuned for more highlights from the trip...
