The babe in Barbados!

The family arrived safe and sound in Barbados, if a bit worn out from the flight. Luckily, the beautiful surroundings have perked everyone right up!

Here's Mama and baby soaking it all in right after we arrived:

After a little initial shock at how warm and foamy the surf is, Miles decided to dive, or no wait i guess crawl, right in.

More fun times in the sand...

Here's a nice one of the late afternoon beach with Mama:

And for those readers interested in the details of how the family landed in such an exotic locale... Mama is supporting a training for clinical mentors working with local clinicians on HIV and AIDS care and treatment in the Caribbean region. The training is taking place this week in Barbados, and Mama worked on the curriculum and will also be co-facilitating two days of orientation for the training facilitators, observing and helping out with the training, and working with local curriculum development staff. The past couple days have been spent doing orientation with our new curriculum developer here, and preparing for the coming week's activities. (no, these activities are not featured so prominently in the blog, but hey, the photos just aren't as interesting! plus Miles is out having fun with Daddy during these times - much better!)

The family will continue on to Hispaniola, first for to visit our buddy Mina in the Dominican Republic and then on to Haiti where Mama will work with local training and curriculum development staff. Stay tuned for regular updates on Miles' blog!

I have never taken family on a work trip with one exception: Barbados! How could you not?!

Say hi to Wendy Sealy for me if you see her.
